MUST SEE – THE PICASSO
MUSEUM
Visit the museum built in honor of Pablo Picasso, a true son
of Spain. More than 200 works of this larger-than-life 20th
Century artist are permanently housed in the Palacio de los
Condes at Buenavista, a magnificent residence chosen for its
typical 19th Century andalusian architecture. This new museum
is an intimate place where a number of paintings have never
been displayed outside the family. Indeed, most belong to
Christine and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, close family members of
the illustrious artist. Visitors can travel through time,
admiring the early sketches of the young art student as well
as the bold strokes of the genius’s hand of the 1970’s.
All the styles and techniques that Picasso explored, from
ceramics and paint to his unusual sculptured forms are there
for the eye to behold. The museum is also a unique repository
for a library, a bookstore and brief exhibitions of the legendary
master’s immense talent. In time, this museum will surely
grow to be an international center for the art of Picasso.
